Hi All,

I have always appreciated photography but not until the last few years did that appreciation turn into a passion. A Q was my first Pentax camera, purchased mainly so that I could expand beyond point and shoot cameras with a variety of lenses. Out of that grew a quest for interesting old Pentax lenses from second hand stores or yard sales. My favorite find was an Edixa f2.8 50mm lens that came with camera. The lens is not that great but I was able to get it to work with my Q for macro shots. I did acquire a K-50 so now my focus is building up my basic photography skills. I also have a Spotmatic F and a PZ-70 purchased for the lenses and just last week I purchased a couple roles of film to expand my horizon a bit.

I had seen PentaxUser a few months ago but today as I browsed some of the portfolios I realized there were some great photographers to learn from here. So thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum! I hope we will see some photos of one of my favourite places.

We have been to California a few times now, the last being a five week tour of the state in 2014. We have friends in Fallbrook, and near Pasadena, so we visit them whenever we can afford the trip over.

I'd forgotten you drove rte 66 in 2014 Peter! It is 13 years since we did the entire route. I would love to do that again!

Thanks for the welcome!

I am impressed that folks have done the entire route 66. I've never driven the entire route in one shot. But I do take Pacific Coast Highway up to the SF Bay area regularly.

ilovesaabs - I live in Ventura - which is glaringly absent from your list of California travels. Nestled between LA and Santa Barbara we often get left off of lists. But we did rank as the best place to live in the US in a Washington Post study last year.

Welcome Welcome and Thrice Welcome. The nearest I've been to Ventura is working in L.A. and also another town nearby called.(Only you Americans could give a town a name like this) City of Industry C.A. It's not just a working town. People actually live there.
CHEERS Vic.
Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.
