Hello from Norway!

It is foggy outside so no much to see - which is why I am checking in on you lot.

Visited Ålesund today - that was interesting, some nice art nouveau buildings. And some hideous more modern things too.

Now sailing further north.

I shall be visiting Trondheim tomorrow early. Hopefully the weather will perk up a bit, but it doesn't look good.
No photos to upload. Slow satellite internet, and a net book to PP the photos is not a good combo.

I'll check in again sometime when the weather is grim

Welcome to Norway, Gwyn. I am stuck in the Eastern part of Norway, just south of Oslo.

We did have a daytrip with Hurtigruten a couple of years back, from Ålesund to Geiranger and back - lovely trip.

Hope you'll have some nice weather on your trip, and not too cold.
Best regards
Terry

Hope the weather's OK when you get to Trondheim.

There's a nice little cathedral there if you get the chance, it also houses the Resistaance memorial if my memory is correct.
Cheers, HG

66.33N this morning at 7.05 in a blizzard.

Not much chance of the aurora but I don't really care - the scenery is just stunning.

More next time I get online.

Off to meet Neptune now.

Heading south. Saw the aurora, and another chance tonight so keep those fingers crossed for me.

Back online properly on Monday.

See you all then.

Not so many I fear. One can only take so many photos of snow covered mountains in varying shades of grey .

The camera has been a real star, surviving -20 and snow on a husky sledge, and still taking photos.

The sun came out a couple of days ago, and made a big difference.
We have seen the aurora twice. The second time was stunning, but my photos aren't. My own fault, I screwed up on the settings and focus, but I did enjoy the display even if I don't have the photos to prove it. That is why I am glad I lugged my tripod - I could watch the display whilst the camera took pictures, rather than seeing it all vaguely through the viewfinder.

Home tomorrow, then 2000 photos to sort through for keepers. If I get 10 keepers I'll be happy tbh.

However I can recommend this trip to anyone. Just brilliant.
