Hello,

My first post here.
I have acquired a Pentax K-r kit about a year ago, my second digital camera (having previously owned a K10d+21mm+43mm for a few months when it came out), and I chose it mostly for it's affordability and comfortable grip.

I was "shooting" slide film with Contax cameras and lenses during the 90s and early 00s but when my first child was born I stopped travelling and therefore photographing.
When digital performance stabilised I decided to give it a go but by then Kyocera had given up on the camera business and I had to buy into a new system.
I chose Pentax for the ergonomics and small size, the viewfinder specifications and wide range of current production and discontinued fixed focal length lenses.

I have been using this camera mostly for a semi-professional model photography part-time job and although image quality is perfectly adequate for my needs I do miss a front control dial, a vertical grip and the exposure mode dial lock of the K-5.

Cheers,
Ricardo

P.S.: currently using 2 Tamron zooms, (mostly) a 28-75mm f2.8 and a 17-35mm f2.8-4.

Hi mate

The Kr is a fine camera I used to have one and it felt really good in my hand, better then the K5. I have the Tammy 28-75 as well.

Welcome to the forum and look forward to seeing your pictures.

Jeff
