Anyway, what's been happening here in a nutshell? And any news/rumours about a new DSLR?

Welcome back I hope you get your inspiration back. Actually I've had some loss of inspiration myself, probably because I have been photographing same kind of stuff in same places too much, I need to reinvent myself or sumthin. I only remember a rumour (months ago) about a K-5, that would be kind of a cross between k-7 and k-x.

K5 as a K7-like body with the Kx sensor is the most consistent one (it often merges with rumours of a new 'midrange' body between the Kx and K7 as the K100D was between the Km and K10D). Others include Stefan's insistence that the DA*30 f2 from the 2-years-ago lens roadmap will be announced at Photokina , a WR version of the DA 55-300 (would make sense), and the new body (which isn't confirmed to exist) having a completely overhauled AF system [ie one that can focus on moving subjects].
Forumwise, we've had lots of discussions about photography law (mainly police-related rather than copyright), and a wonderfully entertaining flamefest about the iPhone
