Hello my name is Richard and iam new to the site iam from England and new to photography, i have a Pentax kx, a bit nervous at the moment i like doing landscape photography and i have seen some lovely photos on this site i just hope i can do shots like them.

Get out, always have your camera with you, practice away, learn what it can do as it's a beautiful camera. Most of all have fun and you will get the photos you want. Share with us in your portfolio on here and you'll get lots of help and encouragement.

I'll second what Bill just said, Richard.

I was the same as you only about 15 months ago.

Have a look around. Learn, practise, and have loads of fun!

As Bill says, take lots of photos, practice makes perfect, or so they say.

Post your shots on here for CC. We are a friendly bunch, but we will tell the truth! But that's how I learnt (I'm still learning).
Also, comment on other peoples' shots. That can really help you think about what works and what doesn't; and, more importantly, why.

from another K-x user, DON'T be frightened of the camera it is very forgiving. as all have said practice makes you better. and everyone is always learning
