Hi I am from Australia and was a dedicated user of the old analogue Olympus OM-10 camera. Loved it but could not buy a digital SLR till now. I did use a pentax Compact camera for some time but was never happy with what I did. I have now purchased a Pentax Kx and have been given two presents - Both used.
A Metz 45 CL-4 (Analogue with a Metz SCA 3702 M3 adaptor for Pentax) and a dedicated Pentax 540 Flash.
The problem I have is the foot locking device for the Pentax 540 seems defective as the flash keeps sliding. Can this be repaired in Australia?
A second question is that whether I can use the Metz Flash gun on my camera. I prefer this if possible as the camera seems to balance properly when fitted together with the camera. However I have read a lot about Trigger voltages. Can someone advise me whether I can use this system? I cannot seem to find any information about this compatibility as Metz also seem to have a Flash gun with the same no which is digital

Check the voltage first... There have been instances of folk 'frying' the circuitry of their cameras with old flashes...
