First meeting of the season for top fuel dragsters, so can the K3 survive direct sunlight temps and Nitro fumes?

I think the K-3 will survive very well! Looking forward to seeing some pics from its survival!

Last time I was in Perth - Gnangara to be precise, it was over 40c and I had my K20D out in the bright sunlight. No issues with that so I would expect the K3 to be fine.

I was staying in Scaborough and the hot breeze off the Ocean at 10:00 pm was fascinating - sitting there with a cold beer (or three)!

I'm not expecting any issues. My istD has performed in higher temperatures without issue. The dragsters start at 6PM so it's going to be dark. I only have the 55-300mm with me for the K3 so it's got to be a high ISO approach.

I will be using other kit but I'm keen to give the K3 a good run for its money.

That cold beer sounds better than wondering around the pits tomorrow!

Calamity rules. I packed three bags of camera kit to take to the meeting and when a mate arrived outside beeping the car horn, I grabbed two and put them in the boot only to return to the front door and lock it!

On the way there it dawned on me that I’d left one bag at the house. Sod it. Yup, I left the K3 behind. So unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to try it with the top fuel dragsters.

Soooo, this Saturday I'll be at Motorvation link and I’m using my own transport.

No top fuel dragsters but other goodies to shoot.
