BTDT in Egypt and it was hot I'll grant. Mad dogs and Englishmen time though - I went out for a walk in the midday and met some really nice guys sitting in the shade the cissies!
Enjoying the dig? Do you see measurable progress while out there or is it only when you look at results back home it all falls into place?

Not always clear what it all means at the time, but we are certainly getting down. About 3 skeletons so far, a few buildings and a huge dolium.
We had a party of Morris dancers visit the local town the other day. Very surreal!

But you didn't actually attack the Morris Dancers?
I shall have to look up Dolium - oh bugger I'll do it now - oh you found a big vase then. Showing ignorance all the way that's good then? Not common?
