Nothing special, consumer MF zoom.

See on ebay.

Probably a mistake to do a good description, showing the dust and all...

It's never a mistake to give a thorough description!

I've bought near-mint items on eBay really cheap because they've been poorly described with blurry photos - it puts most buyers off.

On the other hand, I've sold damaged goods where I've shown nothing but the bad parts and received better than average prices for them.

If people can't be there to handle the goods then they want to know *exactly* what they're getting - warts and all! eBay is one of the few places where honesty still pays...

I think your listing's a good one and you should find a buyer. One tip though; in the "Item Specifics" box choose "Other" as well as "Pentax" and add in "Ricoh, Chinon, Samsung" as these will all be taken into account in searches, whereas the body text of your description isn't.

Good points. However the descriptions of almost all items I see dont show very much detail and they still sell.

But I think you are right.

They still sell alright, but if they'd been better listings you can bet they'd have sold for more!
