Hanging prints on walls

Hi everyone

Back with a question please. I wanted to hang some pictures on the walls, specially of the little ones that I managed to capture with reasonable good quality. I did some quick checks on the internet and found that there are canvas inkjet printing papers that I can buy. But besides the crude and straightforward general way that I could do by sticking some double sided tape etc and manage to hang it on the wall, is there a better way of doing it? I am sure some of you might be doing it in a more visual appealing way and I wanted some advice and suggestions.

Wife had even bought some time ago canvas hanging stuff, this was before even I bought my K20D and she had been asking me for ages to help her hang them on the wall but I never got around it , but they are just typical square canvas bases that people buy and hang and alter what they can stick on it with limited choice of their manufacturer's own images, you basically buy it from them from a very restrictive selection of images and peel it and stick it on the canvas board and it stays there.

Googling terms like pictures on canvas etc brings up some companies that I have to send the images for them to print it and they put it up on a canvas and they cost a bomb, typically around £45 which I definitely wouldn't like to go down that route. I just wanted something simple that I could print and hang it and when felt like changing then print something else and put it up.

This is a result of wife liking some of the shots taken with my Pentax 50mm 1/4 lens and having managed to make her forget to ask to see the bill on expenses for my new exciting hobby

I am wondering if buying frames and using them would be the only option available, so any help, suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I experimented a few years ago, but couldn't get close to the commercial services canvas prints. I had some limited success with the iron-on transfers onto not-too-course canvas and stapling it to a wooden frame made of square pine. Would be interested to try some canvas inket paper, I didn't know anyone did it

I think in the end getting some wooden frame made of square pine is something well worth considering, I have given it a thought and been playing with that idea if any other better way doesn't crop up.

But just briefly googling canvas inkjet paper lots of links came up and unless I am confusing many big manufacturers make them and seems we can get others also not so expensive. If these are really what we are looking for even the prices seem quite reasonable and I would be quite willing to get a few prints and playing around and filling my kids bedroom walls with the pictures and then raising up the stakes and displaying the images into the living room as I start mastering better the fine art of photography

that link seems really great. I am going to order some from them and give it a go.

May I ask you, how do you end up hanging the printed photos from that canvas paper? Do you have a wooden frame made to which you staple it, this way losing an fraction inches from each border? Or you stick it using double sided tape? Or you just print in that paper for the sake of a canvas look.

I think I got the answer even without you replying. If I had gone to your website and checked before writing that question I would have known what you do.

Great looking stuff I see on your website and I can see you are pretty good at it. So your recommendation comes from huge experience in the field.

Hi again Amin, if you want to stick your canvas prints onto any surface buy a tin of spray mount adhesive most photo shops have it.
