Hamilton Square in the snow

I made a comment in one of my posts that I'm still trying to do this place "justice".
The kind responses I got and the rare event of snow in Birkenhead inspired me to go out and try again.
I'd be interested in comments regarding the use of mono or not, so I have included the colour version and the mono, I've always "seen" this place in black and white. (Sometimes mono feels like cheating to make a failed image look "arty").

I don't see why a B&W should be derided. It's just the same as using an appropriate tool for the task - which in this case, is to make best use of the lighting and conditions to produce an image - and for that reason I LIKE the mono versions here!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I rather like the monochrome versions as well. They have a certain timeless quality and also suppress and distracting flashes of colour.

Used to live in Birkenhead. 1988-90. Always travelled beneath HS, never set foot at ground level.

I think the images would be better if the sky was a bit more interesting, but the fact the sky is drab makes me lean towards the mono images.
