If they taste anything like the beef here I wouldn't want to eat them. The best meat here is roast goat

It's an interesting bird.....it's nest is huge, large enough for an adult human to fit into and it builds many of them too, some of which they never use, the nest is made from sticks and mud (the mud is brought in by the male but applied by the female).
Snakes and other animals are often found in 'abandoned' Hamerkop nests, some birds even use Hamerkop nests as a foundation for their own nests
When soaring they stretch their neck out resembling storks but when flapping their wings the neck is coiled back like herons but in fact they belong to the Pelican/Cormarant group
They also perform 'False Mounting' ....where one bird stands on top of another, they may not be 'Partners' and do not mate ....strange
