Hama Universal IR Remote Release Mini 2
2 Any other alternatives for an inexpensive infra red remote release? The Hama is around £20.
For about £20 you can get a genuine Pentax remote control F, which definitely does work for Bulb exposures. You just hold the button down for as long as you want the shutter open.

And it's smaller! It is worth looking at the Pentax one, really.

I've had mine for 13 years and its still on the original battery!
30,000 shots they claim for its life ISTR.
I unscrewed mine to see what was inside - it's just a standard cell so it would be easy to replace.
