Here's a slideshow of thirteen photographs shot in and around an abandoned farm cottage high in the North Wales hills.
I hope you enjoy them.

Gracious !

They really are striking . The sense of abandonment is very strong - the things that were left - hmmmm.

Thanks Andrew - I really liked them

I like the colour images the most, there is great detail and love the processing on them also, a lovely set.

Thanks both of you.

Yes, Techno, what made this place so poignant was that the remains were not very old, only quite old and that empty birdcage...that tells a sad story.

Interesting you prefer the colour shots, Snappy. I only converted a few to mono at the last moment, to add interest, I suppose and emphasise the bleak feel of the place. Perhaps I should have left them all in colour.
Best wishes,

Andrew

I felt that the colour images added to the aged feel of the shots.

I must agree the colour shots just add something to the atmosphere of the place.

I find it amazing that you can find these places, and that they provoke thoughts of the way life was.

A great set again.

At first I thought they were going to be very dreary and then
the coloured shots appeared and all was well Really like
the tin roof shot and the tin wall/roof detail. Some really
nice colours there that work very well together.

Terrific set of images again Andrew...as others have said the colours and the processing really make these "pop"

First classs selection of pictures Andrew, as always. While black and white suits this type of subject very well I must confess some of the colour pictures, particularly the rusty roof against the blue sky, are very harmonious.

OK as the general consensus seems to be that colour is best here, I went back to the originals and I think you may all be right. So here they are:

The shot of the iron is my favourite, but they are all very good. In fact, the iron is the only one I personally think that would not suit a mono conversion. The lean-to also works very well in colour.
However, I definitely prefer the mono version of the oven. Great work as usual Andrew.

I would have tidied up if I knew you were visiting, maybe I should have put the iron away or cleaned the cooker

Back to being serious - great shots again

Near where I live is a jaguar scrap yard with many an old jag - I have often considered spending an hour or two there taking a few pic's - I should probably ask for a few tips from you before I go.

Stuey, You realise the iron and cooker are powered by bottled gas...no town gas or mains electricity up there!

As if I could teach you anything about photography.

What a wonderful series! I prefer how they are in your Photobucket slideshow for mono and colour (esp the bird cage and oven).

Thanks or sharing, Andrew!
