GX20 bonus!

Well, I'm very happy with my GX20 courtesy of Jacobs. What I didn't expect was the software. I knew the RAW converter was based on Silkypix, but so was Pentax's and I found what came with my K10D totally unusable (the interface is a joke - windows everywhere!.)

I'm a happy ACR user, so only loaded the Samsung software just to see - and am glad I did! It's basically the same as Silkypix Developer 3, with the same interface. I tried a couple of test pics and they were SO much better than ACR. So I've been on a steep learning curve these past few days (it is a very complex piece of software) and the only thing I haven't been able to replicate from ACR is the gradient adjustment tool (or spot adjustment, but I didn't like that anyway.) And you can always save in 16 bit TIFF to do other stuff in Photoshop.

So I urge all you new GX20 owners to get cracking if you haven't done so already (do bear in mind that there will of course be no more time for sleep, assuming you still want to take photographs:wink

Tony

I have a GX20 Jacobs special as well, which I am very pleased with.

Unfortunately Samsung have yet to discover that the Mac has been invented, as all the software appears to be PC only, so I shall have to take your word for it.

However I have calibrated all of my lenses with the Fine AF Adjustment available on the GX20/K20D and they are now all that little bit sharper at no extra cost.
