Gulp!

Both shots were done with the same lens - my beloved FA* 85mm F1.4

And I passed one up at £399... idiot
(Goes off to give self a good kicking )

Matt and Don, thanks for the pse advice! I'll play with some photographs this weekend - after the "photoshoot" ( presumptuous newbie, ha!)

Clarky I doubt I'll even notice the delivery guy, more likely the box will appear all on its own! Seriously, these Americans are very trusting - just plonk the darn box in front of your door, ring the bell and leave - leave my treasure out in the elements and vulnerable to thieves and robbers I'm not sure if I appreciate or am appalled at the trusting barbarians (hand on chest, HUGE sigh!).

Something I've had to adjust to is the spelling here - "gray", how about "practice" - they use the single spelling here! Don't get me on my soap box about the bland adjectives and boring vocabulary - everythings
goooooooood!
However, they have welcomed me in and I've a safe, loving home here and so I mustn't bemoan things too much (ungrateful wretch that I am!)
. . I do so miss real Cadbury's, Marie biscuits, Milo and so much more!

I better go, I starting to dribble on the keyboard!

A well deserved kicking I think!

I just checked and my FA* 85 cost £475 new perhaps 8-10 years ago when I was living in Hong Kong - I think they were a lot more than that here at the time. I also got my 80-200 F2.8 (Tokina) for about £400 new, also in Hong Kong.

I was shocked at the prices when I returned to the UK!

I came home to find a brown box from Adorama had been delivered - Oh my gosh! The 16-45 is feeling rejected, the 50-200 is feeling insignificant and my family are beginning to hiss at me! I'm not sure if it's the permanent retina after-image or my crouched position as they walk around corners

The lens is heavy! It is solid, beautiful and all growed up! I like the fancy bag, the lined lens cover and the permanent hood - all appropriate for Halloween

Me oh my, I'd better take good piccies to justify this new addition! (Gleeful rubbing of hands)

P.S. As the box was opened, my other half says, "Now is that going to all the buying for the Pentax?"
HHhffffwaaaahha haa haa haa haa!
