guidelines on posting images?

are there or is there a single summary on the rules around posting images to the gallery or the various compertitions?

Very briefly :-

All images (submitted to the Gallery or to any Competition) should have been taken on a Pentax camera or a Samsung clone of a Pentax camera.

Images for the Gallery are supposed to be those photographs that you feel are of particular merit (your best images).

For the Weekly Competition, the photograph submitted may have been taken by you at any point in time (even on film way back in the past and scanned in).

For the Fortnightly Competition the photograph must have been taken by you within the two week time frame set by the judge at the start of each competition and full EXIF data must be included. For this competition, the maximum size on the longest side is 800 and your picture needs to be on a host site (as for posting photographs in the Forum).

Thos thread explains how to put a link into any of the forums to insert an image in a message.

The same things apply to competitions in the forums.

There is no rule about what you post where - it's up to you whether you want to put general images in the Gallery or in the Your Photos section of the forum. It is not a good idea to do both though as this just splits the attention given to your picture.
