Great North Run

My first attempt at photography was rally cars going through a stage. So I thought, slow moving athletes could not be that hard. As they say, "how wrong can you be". Any ideas for improvement will be readily taken on board.

They are 100% better than I got at the local triathlon. Curious about #3, was that rain drops or tears of frustration I know all about the latter

#2 I'd crop the traffic cone off.
#5 I'd have tripped up 561 for spoiling the shot of runner 467

Wheelchair and rain are the picks for me. As Stan mentioned a tighter crop is needed for the wheelchair, there's a bit of lamp post in it too, on left.

Rain tells us a bit of a story

On the wheelchair shot i'd lose the lamp post and pavement on the left and the cone.

On the last one I'd crop to the foreground fingertips and lose the ear on the right; crop down to the top of the Bupa sign on the lamp post and below the 'Bupa' on 561's number. Might be good in mono too.

I've just done all that on the second one and it doesn't really work because the blue Bupa sign becomes the point of the picture

However... what do you think with some motion blur added to the bg.

Do you think this will take the attention off the bupa sign ?
