I like it the way it is, the aspect ratio appeals to me a very nice almost panoramic feel. I like the amount of sky, and the shadows and light on the mountains really emphasises there shapes and contours.

I think your right Stan. For me a far more interesting shot in a letterbox format.

I think that your composition of this attractive photo is just right, Stan. The viewpoint draws the eyes up towards the clouds over the distant mountains, and the bigger sky benefits this landscape by enhancing the impressions of height and space - a letterbox format would be claustrophobic, and therefore inappropriate here. It looks like bright, middle of day sunlight there, so for me the brightness and contrast could do with a slight boost. Just my opinions, of course.

It's a nice image Stan. I don't know the exact viewpoint you took this from, but for me the best improvement would have been to include some foreground detail (rocks at water's edge etc) and then the amount of sky would not have been so prominent. This would have made for a more balanced image.

Opinion seems divided on the sky so have tried David Storm's suggestion of a little foreground to balance the image, as it was only grass I've cropped it little.
