Beautiful shot Danny. Personally I might crop this a little closer, which would lose the very slightly distracting branches on the left and a little of the water in front. Definitely keep the undergrowth behind the birds.

Very nice Danny. Like the low viewpoint.
I checked out my local grebes on Saturday, who raised two clutches last year. They are back too, and were busy nest building between periods of complete indifference to each other. So looking forward to seeing some little striped humbugs

Didn't want to crop in much more Kevin as it was already a crop and wanted to keep the detail and the reflection. Was you thinking something like this?
There were a couple there that had 6 humbugs last year Alan but I never got them in good light, hoping to this year!

Went to grab the main kit out of the car and hung around for a few hours hoping they would do it again but wasn't that lucky. They were nesting however and I even saw them mating but the shot was blocked by a lot of branches.
My favourite moment was this one towards the end of the day and was really pleased with the light as well, looking forward to going back as often as I can! All C&C appreciated.
