Grand morning out

After all the rubbish weather lately we finally had a nice morning yesterday. So headed down to our local nature reserve / activity centre. It basically consists of a reserve for the birds, two big lakes (one for fishing and one for water sports), a steam railway, activity centre for the kids and a cafe. It was our No1 destination when the kids were small. Must have been on the steam trains almost every week for 10 years.
But now times have changed, the kids are older and Lakeside has taken on a new role for me.....practice arena for photography. Seems to be quite a few photographers down there, mainly for the wildlife. There certainly were a lot of Geese there yesterday and a manky fox hunting them. I have no quality lenses for that sort of thing, so could only look.
Did have a bit of fun with the pre-dawn sky, railway and mist. Or at least until i was told off for being on the track. Opps.

Some really nice work here - I'm lucky to get one or two good shots on an outing - 1, 2, 3 and 5 are my fav's - the first one is particularly appealing to me

Many thanks Lenny No1 was my personal fav but was quite pleased to have got a few to choose from. I normally struggle to come away with one.

And you just reminded me to number the photos.

Very nice set indeed and well done for braving the cold weather. Love the sun through the trees and the sunbeams, very nice.

Lovely set, possibly the monochrome just shades it for me.

You right Gareth, no 6 needs to be popped back into PS to have the colour cast removed. That always happens when i stack the Cokin filters. Really need to buy myself a single 0.6 Hitech filter.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone, really appreciate them. 1,2 and 5 are my favourites too. I like No5 because it looks the 4 Geese are after the single bird. Made me chuckle at the time.
