Pigeons only get frisky when trying to mate and she is not in the mood. Can go on for days until she gives in and then it's over in less than a second. Guess these two are only at odds because she is not having any of his attention.....YET.

That's not an attack. that's love oh love oh careless love. They're at it all the time in the woods behind our house at this time of year.

Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

Thanks Don, it was luck and high speed continuous Shooting rather than skill and timing though. The 300DA* is such a capable lens, it's converted me wholesale to DA* glass.

It doesn't matter, shots like this happen too quickly to allow "skill" determining the quality of the shot. Thanks Don, it was luck and high speed continuous Shooting rather than skill and timing though. The 300DA* is such a capable lens, it's converted me wholesale to DA* glass.
It's simply a fantastic shot, Lovely composition. Yes it could be enhanced by some editing but the foundation is there!
No amount of skill could increase the chance of bagging a shot like this so it's an irrelevant factor
One of the best shots I've seen on this forum for along time. Nice one

Great shot.
I think the bird at the bottom is a young or juvenile wood pigeon as it lacks the colours in the head and eyes of the adult, in particular the white patch on the neck, I guess the adult is trying to get it to clear off!

Sad thing is the adult lost his mate a few years back, for many years (assuming it was the same pair though possibly not since they are meant to have a relatively short lifespan) they sat side by side on that wire then one year he was alone and never stopped calling all summer.
