Peter,
It's clearly escaped your attention, but we've all (well, almost all) taken the plunge, and bought digital cameras.
We've all bought card readers; we've all struggled with the manual; we've all actually taken some pictures.
And guess what? We're all still alive.
Now go and take some pictures yourself, and report back when you have something interesting to say, or some good pictures to post.
Blow-by-blow accounts of taking the bus to Chelmsford or plugging in a card-reader aren't, per se, terribly interesting.

I hang out on an number of forums, as I expect most of us do. And one of the things that happens is that people sometimes post things that aren't of interest to all.Blow-by-blow accounts of taking the bus to Chelmsford or plugging in a card-reader aren't, per se, terribly interesting.
Universally, however, I find those that carp on about how uninteresting other people's posts are, even less interesting, despite the fact that the curmudgeonly grumpiness that usually goes along with the carping can be entertaining in its own way.
I've only been here a short time but it's nice to see Peter E making his journey from film to digital. I'm not offended by his occasional diary entry along the way.

I'm not bothered at all by it either
By the way Peter - I have used a Metz 50MZ5 with SCA3702 on the K10D with absolutely no problems whatsoever. Any of the SCA adaptor stuff will be perfectly ok. Just be aware that TTL will not work - you are "restricted" to A and M on the flash (but I'm sure that's not a problem for you )
EDIT: You'll find that Metz list the 45CL3 with SCA adaptor for all the *ist-D series. http://www.metz.de/downloadFile.php?type=adapterarchiv&lang=en
There'll be no problem on the K10D

Peter, I am glad you have got your camera at last. Now relax and have fun with it.
And I, for one, like your style - it makes me laugh as I sit here with my cup of coffee. I can just see you trekking off on the bus and giving the guy in jessops a tough time. Good for you!
Hope you will post some of your efforts here, with a great story attached to them!

hi Peter, glad to hear you now have a K10D which works! I am very much looking forward to seeing what you produce with it, having enjoyed the film shots you have posted in the past.

George, give it a rest . . . please.
Your posts are getting more and more personal, and less and less about the subject of photography.
You might like to ponder that before lashing out again.
Looking after the frail and elderley can be frustrating, I know, I've done it. How can we help?
Regards,

Peter,
Newton's third law stated that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. My posts are a response to the negativity that has been prevalent from some quarters recently. As such, they are perhaps a bit negative themselves.
However, Peter Elgar has now started posting some (quite good) pictures, which is great, and I'm just waiting for Viewfinder to do the same.
And for somebody else to stop re-posting pictures he's posted already!
