Well thanks to this forums advice to myself and other users I decided not to go for a K200D but the K10D instead. Luckily the "london camera exchange" in Taunton had 2 left in stock at £450 ea with a 18-55mm DA lens. Very nice friendly staff too. I went local for ease of return etc in case of a problem.

I used to have an mz5 for a short while until it died but i couldnt afford a dslr at the time so i went for a fuji finepix s5000 digital for a couple of years but this D10 is a whole new ball game so I may be asking a few questions in future. I have taken a few pics but I am still reading the manual as this camera has soooo much in the way of adjustments/formats etc its just fantastic. Hopefull I can now start some serious amateur photography

Excellent choice. I am trying to persuade a work colleague to buy one of the last K10D's.

Enjoy your photography.

I too have just upgraded. I had a Fuji S9600, and after much deliberation... the low price of the K10D (thanks to the K20D launch) was too good to miss.

Bought the K10D + 16-45mm + grip from SRS, and now I'm off and running. Used the camera on a shoot yesterday and I'm happy how its handling.

Having got to grips with the Fuji and used it so often, I'm pleased how easy I have got to grips with the functionality of the Pentax

Now I've got to upgrade my tripod to something more sturdy, and there's plenty more things to add to the wanted list too! But for now I'm happy to get out and get shooting.

The K10D feels great in my hands and after considering the smaller K100D I'm glad I went for the larger model.

Hello
I too have received my new K10D this week.
I am new to D-SLR and will have to read the manual to see what this award winning camera can do.

Enjoy

I was hoping to get mine this week but Pentax didn't get the stock to SRS so it looks like it will be next week at the earliest

Good luck with yours, I'm a complete novice so I know I'll need it with mine!

ehehehe and this makes it 4!!!

I just got my new K10 today, after much thinking, I finally decided to buy the second body that is much needed for going pro!!!

Went to SRS for the first time, and had a really nice chat with the guys there. I also tried a load of lenses, and I fell in love with the DA* 300mm... which i'll never be able to afford!

Anyway the only lens I really wanted to try and they didn't have is the 31mm LTD. Does anybody have one I can play with???

I am really happy for the second body, and I look forward to a greater improvement in the next year or so... the K20 wasn't enough for me to upgrade... so let's wait and see!

Cheers,
Nathan

Well done boys

I've had my K10D for one year now and mine was one of the 'early' ones but I have been very happy with it..

It is the dog's meat and two veg, it's a great camera...I was in Cameraworld on Friday and they were saying that a lot of people were keeping their K10's....

Now go out and ENJOY

Is there a difference between the earlier models?
