Can only assume the left over girly colors of the not so popular design are the reason for the great price. Either way, got one for my mum She's not only happy with the performance, she's liking the weight and looks. Doesn't get any better than that.

It's like a bilious attack... cheap, though. Relatively.

I did buy a metallic pink Ricoh CX which no one else wanted, but this is in a different league of awfulness.

(Secretly, I'd love to see what that new sensor's like.)
Best wishes,

Andrew

Ha. I don't find it awful, except the leds. But than, being a woman, I can quite happily wonder around with the silliest looking gear with out attracting much attention to it. Threatened my other half to send him to the shops with it hanging around his neck if he is 'naughty' - oh the look I got! Totally worth it

Looks aside, it's compact and quite looking forward to taking a few shots with it before mom heads back home.

They also come in soda blue & strawberry!
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

I still like that Lime Pie, but unfortunately don't need a K-S1.

"Need" often has an unfortunate tendency to become confused with "want", John. (A quick trawl through most of our camera bags will confirm this!)
Best wishes,

Andrew

Ok, I have one, but I find the reluctance to 'need' a K-S1 odd.

Great, light-weight and high IQ. Match it with a set of Limiteds and it knocks so-called high-end compacts into a cocked hat.

I bought a Fuji X-20 as a 'go to' camera for when I didn't want to carry (lug) my K5II. Now the X-20 stays at home with the K5II

Hot on the heels of a 150-450mm zoom I might find it difficult to justify another 299, unless I do genuinely need it....

Where did you get your 150-450 for 299 from?
