The problem with this kind of 'lifemanship gambit' ("how good must his best stuff be, then???") is the light it casts on those of us less gifted
Seriously, I can understand why it's had such positive response (see also forum comments on that series you posted). Congrats on the selection.
But what is Flickr "explore"???

I commented in that thread ... and it's a lovely shot ... but the problem I have with Flikr is that any shots you post there you are effectively donating to Flikr as they then have the right to sell or otherwise distribute your shots as they see fit - no matter what you say about copyright.

You cannot sign copyright away to something you have not yet created no matter what the contract states when you sign up. They do not have the right to use my material at all. If you sign up for the creative commons agreement then that is a different issue.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I'm not sure where you got this idea from but it is completely untrue! Under no circumstances can Flickr sell or distribute your work. As Kris says if you choose to apply a CC licence your images you are giving people a licence to use them in certain limited circumstances but no more than that. If you choose to copyright your images then you aren't even giving people that option.

Maybe this from the TOC's is the cause of the confusion - however, of course you have to grant yahoo rights to display and modify the photos submitted, or they wouldn't be able to display it on the website!
