I think leaving the forum was an over-reaction, but I do not know what else went on previously. I hope Jeff comes back, with slightly thicker skin, which you do need sometimes on this forum - and in life in general (especially if you pride yourself on 'straight-talking').

It's a funny thing, this 'leaving in a strop' thing.

They say they're going, but obviously the only point of saying anything, is to elicit a response... so it's clear that they aren't going to go at least until they've checked out the responses.

Then if they don't go, they look a bit silly.

Best if you're going, just to go, really - at least there are no bridges burned. Unless you're leaving for another brand, with no hard feelings. Then it's nice to say farewell, and be wished well in return, especially since, chances are, the people here will have all your old gear. And if anyone remembers you, there's no problem coming back.

Was it McBrian, who left for Nikon, since that's what his children had? I have his SMC-A 400 F5.6 still

McBrian is still occasionally around and can be seen on ePHOTOzine where he posts some superb images, sometimes Pentax ones. He's a great guy and I've bought things from him in the past.

If people want to leave, the best answer is just to stop posting, then when the mood returns just start posting again. If there's a problem, let us know about it by PM so we can see if anything can be done to help.
Best regards, John

As you can see from the linked post, there is nothing wrong with his photos.

Must be nice to get it right every time.

It doesn't really matter now does it? Let it go guys, there's no point in continuing to make digs at someone whether they are here or not, but especially whehn they are not here to defend themselves.

Well his post announcing his departure was made on 27/09/2011. His last login was 6/10/2011.

So he's gone, but still lurking.

Those photos blew me away.

It was like the first time I heard The Beatles.

It would be great to know that you're so superior to everyone else. I envy him.
