Couple of quickie shots (one hand holding toddler, one hand holding camera!) from the local garden centre while on a wellie buying mission:

I found these to be quite difficult targets for one-handed AF shooting and missed my intended focus on both shots, so had to crop quite a lot to recompose.

Considering the circumstance (toddler induced shake) this is brilliant. Which lens did you use, Tim?

Thanks Andrew, these were both with my usual walkabout lens (Tamron 17-50). I'm going to go back someday with something faster!

These are great!! I especially like the second one. Like the depth of focus and the line of black hats in the second. They're like a comic clone army. Made me smile anyway

Gnomes (especially this many) scare me.

Nice shots though!
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

Apparently.

Love 'em. Definitely worth a return visit sans toddler and with your preferred lens.

Just had a second thought...these guys are like a Disney version of the Chinese terracotta army! You could have some fun with that juxtaposition of images!

Thanks folks!

I'm looking forward to the return trip! There were a few of these guys there (you'd better look away Robbie ), this was the original pre-crop shot for number 2 - you can see the missed focus on the central gnome.

Thanks James!

I actually have a (replica, obviously) full size terracotta army guy in my garden. Might try and create my own army as soon as we get some nice weather. Keep an eye out for some photos in around June
