Glossop sunsets

Over the past year or so I've tried to take photo of interesting sunsets from the top of the house (which overlooks the neighbour's roofs). This is not always easy, involving gaining entry to #2 son's fortress of a bedroom, (temporarily) dislodging his precious collection of Lego Bionicles from their perches on the window, opening said window and taking a snap, reconstructing his Bionicles, then scarpering.

But persistence has resulted in some interestingly varied skies in the collection!

All taken with the DA40. Minimal tomfoolery with colours etc. Most of these just have a bit of levels adjustment in lightroom.

I think you've made a mundane subject, the neighbours' chimneys, something special.

a nice series of interesting skies, I can't help but think though how even more impressive they would have been using some of that lovely scenery at the top of the Snake Pass

That's really interesting - often I take shots and wonder if people believe the light in them and then you show these to prove the diversity of light - I like it

Nice to see that you have cloned the birds out of all bar two of them

Darn straight! If I had my way I'd be out there most evenings, but the good locations are a decent walk from the road and, heh, real life intrudes

Friendly neighbourhood Jackdaws. Wonderfully characterful birds or pesky vermin, depending on whether they try to nest in your chimney
