I found where these images went after using the card reader; there is a new folder created I think. I saw this glass ornament my wife got at a boot sale, balanced it on a chair back by the window and used my 50mm SMC Macro-Takumar screw lens with the screw-bayonet adapter, stopped down to f8, 200 ASA, 6MP jpeg best setting, auto white balance, shake reduction used as I was getting about 1/60th hand held.

Love the colours and refreactions Peter.

Dan's right, digital is a lot of fun, and you can afford to try things you wouldn't have attempted with film - like the 1000 shots (really!) it took me to get this:-

Nice!

I went to Gigrin Farm a few years back, but not digital at the time. Must go back. I'm guessing this one was more local to you - just off the M40?

Had another go at the flying Hoverfly shot the other day, but haven't got round to processing it yet. Not as good as this one from last year though...

Simply wouldn't have even tried it on film because I wouldn't have had a clue if I was remotely close to getting it right. I love digital!

Dan,

Yes it[watlington hill] is only about 30 minutes away, however the Kites are expanding their range and there are some pairs nesting in Burnham Beeches, which is only 10 minutes walk away. By next year i expect them to be nesting in the trees at the bottom of my garden. I Love that hoverfly!

How much did you pay the hover fly to stay still ?
1 lump of sugar or 2 ?

Maybe Dan cloned out the pin and added gaussian blur to the wings?

3 lumps of sugar. was it Dan ? Or did you just say, Stay still you slimey slug, and don't struggle through this super-sticky super-glue
and don't sing those South Sea Shanty's while sipping Scotch slowly through a straight straw, served to you by a slow sloth ?
