The Uni-Loc locks positively with out a great deal of pressure being applied to the lever. Using the locking knob on the MH1312 I can still move the ball head with it tightened by what I would consider a reasonable force. All it seems to do is increase the friction by a larger amount than the smaller friction knob. With the camera mounted on the head I can move the camera by holding the head with my fingers and using my thumb to apply pressure. I'm not using it with a heavy camera/lens combination so it is held in the same position.
Should I expect a more positive locking action on the ball from the locking knob?
