Hei GIMP users.

Time to time I have problems with selections etc tools.
Now I found out that the tools are working but "the starting point" is out of my image - there are black arrows on the rulers that show the place where my tool is working. But the place is quite long way away from the cursor.

How can I get my tools working at the place where I point with my cursor?

How I can avoid such strange thing to happen?
It always happens when I open the program ....not while working with an image.

Aiki

PS. Gimp is fun ....up to the moment when this problem rises.

I am not clear what is happening here, do you think you could post a screen shot so we can see what you mean?

If you are using Windows, you can copy the screen to the clip board by pressing "print screen", then paste it into GIMP or Paint and save as an image.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

Hei !

Got a solution already.
The pic of my screen is taken already when it is OK.
Just added red arrows....

I guess it was sth with inverting selections. Although I did it unknowingly.
And it happened while Gimp crached.
Story is simple: took the phone, moved the mouse on the tablet
and didnt notice that. The cursor went out of the screen.
I tried to get it back with my laptop touchpad and gimp didnt like it.
It closed itself. When I opened it again, it had the old "problem"

At least now I can get out of it. Toggle quick mask. check the invert selection. (although I had selected nothing)

I dont know exactly what was the reason...but this way worked...
"silly is to be silly"
Thanks for being ready to help!
