I normally look at my settings BEFORE I take the picture. Quote:
I'd never get any shooting done if I did that. I'd also miss an awful lot of nice shots.
so what your saying is you never look at your setting and at your srceen when you take the shoot you go all the way home get light room out and then look and it tells you what setting you used your mad get a pad and pen and have a little look at what you have taken and then you have a record of what you did on the shoot in the feild unless you take a laptop every where with you and light room,i know you can look at the EXIF data but at the time of you takening the shoot i wite it down as alog for me so i can record what i use there and then not when i go home.I'd never get any shooting done if I did that. I'd also miss an awful lot of nice shots.

Well mostly anyway. Sometimes I like to shoot without worrying about the settings as that way you can often get some nice shots you wouldn't get otherwise.

Now, as everyone has said, the camera settings should all be in the Exif data. However, this won't include purely manual settings if I am using old 42mm lenses with a dumb adapter. I have to rely on memory for the location!
I tend to use P for snapshots, Av or Manual for more serious photos with the K-x green button set to give me a run of JPEG + DNG RAW saved files. The histogram in the Info recall will tell me if I need to take another photo with a different exposure.
