Welcome and good luck with the K7 - brave move there!
I've seen too many videos of cameras being dropped down stairs/fallen off tripods and the like and still working. I'm doubting the screens will work (both cracked) but they're replaceable, especially the LCD one. If it doesn't, I'll just resell it. As long as it turns on, the dials and recording to card work I might keep it anyway for all the M/A primes I'm planning on getting! It'd be almost like having a 70s camera again

Just joined but have been lurking other Pentax forums for a while and have myself a new K-30 that I bought last week as a joint Christmas present to ourselves. Just getting into photography with the better half so we're currently sharing the camera and mixing it with an old Fuji bridge camera we've had for years. My folks used to use an ME Super back in the 80s and I've been promised her lenses when I'm next over in Australia so I had more than enough reasons to buy a Pentax! Plus, the Pentax forums always seemed more personable than those of other brands.
However, I've crazily gone and bought another "faulty, spares or repair" K7 which looks like it was dropped onto concrete today too. It's untested due to lack of batteries so we will see. Thought it might be worth a punt so here's to hoping I'll either have 2 cameras soon. I hope Pentax make their K7 internals strong.
Nice to meet you all.
