I just meant 1/1 1/2 1/4 1/8 1/16, etc.
Need to know how many steps as some only have a few stops of control.
Total power is useful but the level of control is more so.

Each one has a manual setting and two levels of auto-function.
You can see this on the front of the Starblitz, but switch in on the back of the Vivitar. A look at the Vivitar suggests that there are probably about five levels within each "Auto" setting.

Vivitar 2500 zoom flash. Interesting unit, has a lever lock rather than the thumb-wheel type. The socket for the pc-cord was non-standard, no replacement, so the cord is now hard-wired in. £12 posted
