Purchased brand new by me from SRS 09-03-2013, it's a great camera but I have 4 bodies now and need to downsize, comes boxed complete with battery, charger etc as if purchased new.

Going to give 2 options, £160 the lot or £130 without charger & battery. Pay by bt,chq or coc from Leicester, at a push ill take ppal gift

The seller has let me down and sold to someone else without responding to me. I offered cash full price for item with battery and charger, with no negotiation, and posted the same in a pm last night; also offered to collect as stated in the original sale post.

No response to the PM, so I PM'd today offering to collect from wherever the seller wished and got a message back to say that the item was sold to someone else, minus battery and charger! If the seller had said to me that he preferred to sell without battery and charger I would have agreed this immediately, but no message was received.

There was no indication that the item was for sale elsewhere and I'm sure my PM was the first.

I don't like to post like this, but it's left a sour taste as this was intended to be a present for my wife.

Not happy.

item was sold on this forum and for no extra money as you rudely suggest in the PM I have just received. I have a post office 12 semi detached houses away so posting is the easy option for me.. I let you know last night that I couldn't go onto the motorway to meet at the services as I am riding a 125cc on L plates..

if there is a first dibs rule on this forum I have broken then I apologise but I cannout find anything in the forum rules.

There isn't, you can sell to whoever you like for however much you want.

All I expect from anyone is openness and honesty. I PM'd with the full asking price, I offered to collect and pay cash, you replied and said the location / date was not convenient, I replied immediately and offered to collect on a different day and asked you to tell me where and when, all very polite.

I got no reply and then sent another polite PM asking the same questions again. It wasn't mentioned in your post that you would rather sell without the battery and charger and you never mentioned this in your reply to me last night either.

Of course you can sell to whomever you choose at whatever price you choose, I can't and won't dispute this. What I take some exception to is not replying to me and giving the opportunity to do what you required (that I didn't know about) and then selling to someone else without even a message to let me know!

That seems a bit disrespectful to me and I certainly would not do business on the Forum in this way.

I've bought / sold quite a few items on the Forum, all transactions smooth on both sides and without any issues at all.

Just as it's your right to sell in whatever way you choose, it's my right to let my feelings be known as I went out of my way to be accommodating and was not even told that you'd decided to sell elsewhere.

I'm sure that many people will understand and see where I'm coming from.

PS - forgot to mention that your 'for sale' Forum Post did not mention posting the goods, so how was anyone expected to know that you preferred to post them or what the postage cost would be? I'm a bit confused.

I see where you're coming from David, but I think it's helpful to take more of a 'cest la vie' attitude when it comes to classified sales - if someone makes a better offer, or has less complex demands re postage/collection/payment, the item is always at risk of going to them.

I asked for a lens price in another thread and also sent a PM asking the same.
I didn't even get a reply saying it was sold, despite me helping the seller out a couple of times.

Ruddy annoying but just one of those things.

Hope the K-01 is great for you Gary and I would be interested in your thoughts on how it performs, what you like about it and what you don't like.

Regarding the sales process I experienced with the seller, what really annoyed me was the message I got back after my last enquiry about the camera, 24 hours after I thought I had bought it. The reply was curt to say the least and I had been nothing but polite and flexible with the seller. That's why I took exception to it, clearly nobody on here has seen the communications, so I stand by what I've said above.

I think 99% of transactions on the Forum are handled with courtesy and integrity - all others I've been involved in have been this way.

David I have just been through all the PMs and not once do you say you can pay immediately via BT and I can post, it was all about meeting somewhere which was not possible as I am too busy and cannot go on the Motorway..

you talk about courtesy and integrity like you are a saint but then something did not go your way and you accuse me of selling off forum for a higher price which as you can see was not the case.

I think that concludes everything.
