Hi Danny

You can get these brand new on ebay right now for £250-60. They are Hong Kong sellers with free delivery. I have bought several items from HK and never had a problem.
I am interested in buying one but you would have to drop the price quite a bit to tempt me.
Regards
Peter

£260 + import duty of 8% + VAT of 17.5% + admin fee of at least £10 = £340

SRS sells em at £349

They are also on ebay for £416 from Taiwan.

£250 with free postage in the UK seems like a very good price to me!

How about £249.99?

hehehe. Free bubble wrap and address lable, tempting. Seriously, I would grab it on other member recommendation. But budget quite tight. Not going to buy anything until Dec.

Wait Dec for shopping spree.

Thanks for the help guys, and yes, there is a free bubble wrap promotion!

Seriously though, I think Gareth is right about the price and I don't want to drop from it. Fiona doesn't take her driving test until December, so we're not in a 'have to sell' situation yet!

If you look on hard enough you can buy a Tamron SP AF 90mm 2.8 DI MACRO Brand new for £249 and pay no duties or import tax, but if people are willing to part with their money without looking I guess its up to them to pay what people are asking, which I do think is to high a price for a second hand one.

Well, that's very nice of you, thanks very much.

Now, if you can just explain where exactly you can find an official UK product at £249, new, from a supplier in the UK, with stock in the UK, I'd really like to know.

SRS = £349

Morris Photographic = £338

Park Cameras = £344

Warehouse Express = £343

Bristol Cameras = £345

Hilton Photographic = £400

Wilkinson Cameras = £345

and the cheapest UK supplier I can find is Mifsuds at £299.

The very fact that you talk about not paying duties or import tax, just shows that you are talking about an imported lens, not an official UK one, therefore, you are not comparing like with like.

As Gareth mentioned above, with 2nd hand ones selling for £290 on eBay, my £250 price was very good, let alone the £225 it was reduced to, to get a quick sale.

Can I just ask what exactly your motives are here? Your words come across as very rude and very unwelcome especially after you said this, on this very forum

.....I thought well lets take a look at the shipping costs and import tax. Shock, horror, it works out no cheaper than buying in the UK....

thus proving yourself that your own advice is misguided and ill thought out.

In the future, if your not actually interested in buying items that are for sale, maybe it would be more prudent for you to not comment on them? I'm sure that people on this forum are astute enough and fully capable to do their own research and come to their own conclusions when they are parting with their own hard earned cash, at the very least, I expect this to be the case here

To treat people in the way you have done in your post
Fletcher8 wrote:

just shows that you are being downright rude and condescending with no justification whatsoever.
