Mint condition, works perfectly.
Not the cheap DA-L version with no hood, quickshift and plastic mount but the more expensive DA len which has a Pentax hood, quickshift and metal mount (so it won't melt in the sun)

Boxed with paperwork, front/rear caps and hood.

£220 incl UK postage .. lens will be sent upon clearance of payment.

Mike, my DA L 55-300 has never 'melted in the sun'. There's no doubt that the DA version is superior in terms of build / quick-shift and therefore is worth more money. Your comment was probably tongue-in-cheek but you could inadvertently give the impression here that the DA L lenses are rubbish. This is clearly not the case.

I have seen plenty of daft posts on this forum but this really does take the biscuit.

Unbelievable.

Not as daft as your original comment Mike.

Obviously a touchy subject for you David ... maybe you should have purchased the proper version.

Hi Mike, no I think you have me wrong here.

The reason I posted a comment on this is that there are lots of new or fairly new users who read posts on this forum, particularly just before or after they buy a new camera or lenses. Some of them may take comments like this too literally - I have read several threads over the past year or so where people have unfounded / uniformed paranoia about the DA L lenses and a lot of people think that there are diffrences in the optical quality as well as the mounts / quick shift. Not everyone is a lens expert like you; this is the only reason I made a comment.

I have both DA and DA L lenses; I think both are great and I have no hang-ups about people choosing whichever version suits them best. Both represent serious value for money for the optical quality on offer.

Best wishes
David

David, if someone read my post and actually thought Pentax would make a lens with a mount that would melt in the sun (and totally ignored my smiley) then maybe they should be looking at another brand.

Anyway .. enough of this, I am off to list my DA 35mm f2.4 as I just sourced a made in Japan 35mm f2 which means it is made properly and won't fall apart when I mount it on the camera.

Just because a couple of people have recently contacted me about this :

No longer for sale as I left my other 55-300mm in Spain. As I don't want to be without a copy of this lens it is no longer for sale.

Thanks for looking.
