I know its not exactly the same but having got rid of my Vivitar 55mm Macro lens I'm looking to try and build some macro into my lens lineup, to that end I'm looking to either sell my DA 40mm Ltd to fund a macro capable lens a Pentax 35mm Ltd f2.8 likely as this will give me a very similar length but with macro capability.
Also would consider a trade for the 35mm if anyone is interested.

Why not just get a set of macro tubes for the 40mm?

I could do that, I think I'd prefer to have the option of using macro in the lens rather than using extension tubes although I will take a look into that as well.

Another inexpensive solution is the simple close-up lens, screwed into the filter thread just like any other filter. Stopped down to f11 results can be excellent.

Raynox products are a viable alternative to a dedicated macro lens.

Adding a price - £285 inc Postage as looking to sell, I like my 40mm but I need to get something to cover more range (i.e a zoom)

The 35mm Macro isn't a zoom

Hi Ken,

I know! I'm re-evaluating my lens lineup and I'm going to use the cash from this to invest in a zoom for now.

I'd love to have a full set of primes but financial realities mean I can't!

I'm going to get a general zoom and then focus on other areas that I want to cover off.

So why does the heading say you want a 35mm Macro?

Well that was my thinking when I made the thread last night but I can't change the heading.
