What's the IQ like on the 16-50? Focusing problems like back/front focusing? SDM working ok? How long have you had it?
Very interested! Thanks
Also probably none of my business but why are you selling?

Sorry for late reply, didn't have much time lately. What's the IQ like on the 16-50? Focusing problems like back/front focusing? SDM working ok? How long have you had it?

My first 16-50 had all sorts of problems with focusing. After getting new one in March 2010, I have to say it's much better.
Lens is a bit soft wide open but improves stopped down. At F5.6 to my eyes it looks nice and sharp. There is still some problem with front/back focusing but can be easily fixed in camera.
SDM working without any problems. I guess I was lucky with all my SDM lenses and didn't have any problems with it.

Vrapen, to answer your last question.
I'm not using Pentax gear as much as I used to and I don't want it to just sit in the case and "collect dust".

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply, in the meantime I have changed my mind and I will spend the money on a GX-1 with the 14-42 X whenever it comes in the UK as my everyday standard zoom+camera combination.
Best luck with the sale

Is that with the grip or is the grip for sale on its own? CHEERS Vic.
Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.
