Have you tried contacting the seller? I find that Japanese eBay sellers care a lot about their service. It might be something that was picked up before sale too.

Totally agree with HarisF1, I've purchased many items from Japanese sellers, worth a try, you've nothing to lose

I have had the same issue and it is an easy fix. The problem is that the mechanism relies on a very weak right angle shaped piece of metal which easily gets bent. If you unscrew all of the screws with a jewellers screwdriver you can take the whole thing apart and bend back the metal piece to right angles. I did this on mine and it is back like new.

It looks like the lens locking pin on the 645 side is jammed in - I presume this means it won't lock on the camera. My only 645 is a 645D and I don't want to risk trying it on that!
