After selling off my Pentax FA*85/1.4 some time ago I came across the Sigma equivalent lens and thought I'd see how it faired. I have the DFA*85/1.4 but in terms of size and weight it isn't a lens I'd often put in the camera bag, but the Sigma is a lot more manageable so maybe it would be a permanent addition But alas no, it's not for me - it's a superb lens, very sharp and produced nice Bokeh and with a quieter and quicker AF that the FA* - but it just doesn't do it for me.

It is in superb condition and includes the original hood, caps, case and box. The optics are in great condition, minimal dust, no hazing.

Here's a few snaps from this morning...

As you can see the rubber grip has the typical Sigma fading - this looks worse on the photos than in the flesh

I should add that this includes both the APS-C lens hood and the Full-Frame lens hood

As a lens addict seriously afflicted with LBA I wholeheartedly concur.

However, in addition to the Samyang, as I already have:-

Takumar 85mm f1.8
Takumar 85mm f1.9
Jupter 85mm f2
Carl Zeiss Biometer 80mm f2.8
Roeschiein-Kreuznack Telenar 90mm f3.8
Pancolar 80mm f1.8

I reckon I've sufficient to be going on with for a little while. Don't you think:

But! Never say never. Addiction knows no bounds.

Phew.

By the way, which Biometar do you have? Is it a silver M42 one?

Hello HarisF1. It's a black one for my Pentacon 6 camera with a native Pentacon mount plus an M42 mount adapter. A lovely lens it is too.

Good morning LennyBloke, Sigma 85 delivered to me at 0845 today. Lens exactly as described and well packaged, unfortunately weather awful today, hopefully better tomorrow. No doubt some pics will appear here in the future, thanks again for an easy transaction. Kindest of regards John.

I'm sure you'll have some great use out of it - it's a top quality lens (and I'm not generally the biggest Sigma fan), up there with the best portrait lenses. Pleasure to deal with you John
