This one is taking advantage of the abundant supply of Lilly pilly fruit.

Had to stack the tubes on the tamron 90 for this as they are a very small insect.
C&C welcome.

A high standard indeed ... It's nicely laid out, a balanced composition and gives a sense of the environment. The little subject is sharp and perfectly exposed. A great capture, well done!

Very nice, nailed exposure and DOf, as well as capturing some feeding behaviour

As good as it gets technically and from a compositoon standpoint. This shows what can be done when equipment is in competent hands.

It is the standard we should all aspire too.

Regards

Stacking tubes reduces the light input and the need to stop down to get that lovely deep d.o.f. cuts it down even more. There's little evidence of noise from an elevated ISO setting. So this appears to have been taken very slowly, hoping the little perisher stays put. It can't be faulted. Lovely job!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Thanks all.
Mark I used a Pentax ring flash for this.
ISO 80, 1/180.(the ring flash wont allow faster speeds) f13 with the camera EV at -.5.
C&C welcome.

AH, that would explain it. Lovely even lighting but I wonder if it would benefit from being set a little one-sided to give the feet some shadow? They don't appear to be resting on the fruit.
