From underneath

I rather like photographing monuments and statues. Sometimes they are just straight record shots, sometimes I try and do something different. Not often I get to photograph one from this angle, however.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Very interesting angle. I see it is at UCL. Do they still wheel Jeremy Bentham out for council meetings ?

I don't know about council meetings but he sits in the hall near one of the entrances every day. A colleague of mine recently did some conservation work on his head.

Just did a bit of research and discovered that contrary to what I had previously believed , Jeremy Bentham did not attend regular council meetings of the UCL.

However he has made a number of guest appearances of which the latest was in 2013.

For those who don't know him, he is credited with being the spiritual father of UCL. He died in 1832 !

Different for you Kris. As you say about the angle, it's not the norm but why should it be.

The framing is very well balanced and I like the flat line bottom edge alignment.

Good exposure considering the various light sources. Was this on a tripod or hand held?

Best regards
