Difficult to comment without knowing what's needed for the project.
In the first one, apart from a small area bottom left, you have an exposure that gives detail and definition for the spanners. The second one is a bit darker and I can only just see the sockets in most cases

What Barrie said re pic 2. If you need to give the images a title, for no.1, I'd plump for SPANNERS ARE FOR NUT-JOBS, and no.2 would probably be SOCKET TO ME BABY!

Some Castrol GTX flowing around would look nice
A reflection or two would maybe add that "something", for a few quid Sainsbury's sell a nice shinny black granite chopping board that may be useful for this kind of project.

Thanks Barrie, it's just photos of tools I've tried to lighten up the bottom left of #1 its looks different depending on which monitor I'm using. I agree #2 is too dark, especially the bottom right, I'll take it again with a bit of light reflected on the dark parts.
