It's good to see the power lines used as a feature rather than cloned out - something I hold my hands up to having done

I like no.4. Most unusual.

I agree Andrew, No 4 is most interesting ... looks like an amazingly steep drop down that hill, no doubt the effect exaggerated by the angle and compressed perspective ... but a great effect none the less! Lovely composition on this one as well.

I do also like No 2 with its layers of receding rolling hills and fields, although perhaps the contrast is a little too harsh ... it might have more atmosphere if contrast was reduced, and a softer effect produced?

I think I like 2, 3 & 4.
2. Like the way you have caught the light. I've been down that way several times recently and the winter light is just like that! Contrast looks fine to me.
3. Again, the light on the wires.
4. Love the textures.

No 1 suffers from the fact I get fed up with noisy Chinooks thumping around our way! Not really a critique of the photo.

I'd gone out to snap the birds that usually hang around a group of barns, near-ish home.
None were around, however, so went for a car-wander around.
Only had the K5 with Sigma 150-500 with me, hence some quite compressed perspectives, Nigel!

Couldn't ignore the power lines, they were most dramatic against the fast moving clouds.

I, too, am o.k. with the contrasting contrast levels in 2. That's how it was & that's why I stopped & snapped!

The texture of the field across the valley stopped me in my tracks! On inspection back at home, though, the colours weren't up to much, so did a conversion in Elements 11 ended up pretty pleased with it. It came out a wee bit infra-red looking, I thought......

The chinook just happened to be passing, it seemed not to say hello!

P.S., I do enjoy, when I can, arranging the composition so that any lines leaving the image do so into the corners, rather than somewhere, sort-of , along the edge.
