the museum has an eclectic mix from 16th century wall paintings to the 50's / 60's. your ticket gets you free admission for a year from the day you visit. the building housed Bishop Hooper the night before he was burnt at the stake. some of the displays are awkward to photograph due to tight space so will go back.

I live in Gloucester and can confirm that both places are rather good to visit.

The interior shots all all very clean and pristine in look.....I love the pure white, chrome and blue of the old washing machine! You've managed a very good quality look to these indoor shots, nice work!

Outdoors the contrast challenges were far higher, and there are some creative angles but I feel the excess of deep shadows is an issue.

You've convinced me that Gloucester is a place I need to visit. Nice collection of images.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Excellent, especially the 50's kitchen, modern over the top kitchens are horrible, your photo says modern people have lost the plot with stuff they don't need.

I don't even have a cooker, well I use a Primus camp stove, does rightly!
"In a photographic context I don't like the use of the word 'shot' as where I live this word refers to an extreme act of violence and not the beautiful craft of photography"

thanks for looking and comments. nocturnal, i know someone who thinks the same and actually still uses one of those sink units but she does have an electric cooker albeit from the sixties. David don't get too excited about it , a day will be enough. once you have done the Docks , couple of museums and the Cathedral that's about it. not the best looking city by any means in my opinion. Nigel, could not do much about that as it was a clear blue sky combined with very strong sunlight even at 10 in the morning, felt i had lifted them as much as i needed to show something of what was there. any more and i think it would not have looked right as with that strong daylight the shadows are and were very dark but appreciate where you are coming from
