Friendly croc or not??

I took this with my daughters P&S a couple of weeks ago at a croc farm.
I can recall a fairy tale not too dissimilar to this about a Fox and a gingerbread man

This must be one of those cooperative arrangements that benefits both species but what does the crocodile get out of it? Fresh lunch?

I doubt he even knew the tortoise was there eventually he dived under and when he re-appeared the tortoise was gone.
So i will leave it up to your imaginations as to the outcome
