I think this tool is perfect for a forum share, as once you have converted your slides, I think it would just be sat there doing nothing.

I think it's a great idea - any ideas for administering the sharing, it seems like there may be a queue for this.

If no one has any objections I'll PM Tim when I have finished with the copier and send it on to him if he'll take responsibility for forwarding it to the next in the queue.
Only problem that I can see with this is that once this topic dies visibility of the copier will be lost to any other forum members who could potentially use it, any ideas for keeping it alive and visible ?

We could just publish a new post in this thread when we're done with it? Everyone who has posted here will be notified then (assuming you all get individual notifications and not digest?). My own use of it should be pretty rapid, it's just to digitise a few select images, the humdrum stuff I've already done with a cheap USB scanner.

You could start a "loan" thread for the item and I'll make it a "sticky" so it stays at the top. Just keep a track of what's going on and where it is in the thread.

I have now received the copier from Eduardo - I need to work out how to use it and then find some time to copy the slides that I have then I'll pass it on to Tim.
Don't hold your breath though it may take me a little while to get through the box of slides.

Its up to him to accept it and do whatever he wants with it.
I think it would be a great idea (which I believe has already been floated about) of sharing gear or encouraging trades.
One good outcome of this is that people could try gear they are interested in, before they buy. Or at the very least you can have a bit of an lba fix. Little packages keep popping at your doorstep but your wallet doesn't feel it.
