Hi All,

Just to let you know that BBC2 is starting a 10 episode set of programmes dedicated to the work of this Victorian Photographer.

Sorry I appear to have edited it out when I changed the sentences around a bit.

Series starts next Monday (12th March)

Thanks Bernard It will be nice to see pictures taken
at a time when you could set a tripod up in the street and
not be bothered by the boys in blue

Still can around here, haven't seen one in years.

If it's literally in the street though it's likely to finish up as debris in the thread of a 40 ton aggregate lorry.

Then of course we have the neighbourhood busybodies who see everyone with a camera as a paedophile, so I hate to speculate what they'd think of a tripod (probably the modern equivalent of a bag of sweeties)

Having sat through more than half of the series so far, I have to admit to being a tad disapointed. I had hoped for a bit more insight into the work of FF and whilst JS is totally agreeable I feel there's something lacking.

The following link might just make ammends when you feed in your own location

You haven't given the link Bernard

I only watched the first one. It's watchable, but apart from
being new photos taken from approximately the same place as the
Frith ones I can't see much point in it, so I haven't gone out
of my way to watch anymore episodes.

A series about Frith similar to the one they did about Ansel
Adams would be very interesting.

This series is very much like the Michael Portillo Railway 'Bradshaw Guide' programmes, but without the trains.

Apparently the company is still going, so I wonder whether there is a sponsorship deal going on

My thoughts in a nutshell
